HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 28, 2026) — Two days before Veterans Day, the Veterans Center of Hoboken will break ground on 24 new units of housing for at-risk and homeless veterans at its’ 2nd Street property.
The project builds on six units completed two years ago in Phase 1, bringing the total to 30 homes for homeless, at risk and ageing veterans. Along with housing, residents will have access to on-site amenities and support services designed to help them build stable, independent lives.
The Hoboken groundbreaking represents the combined efforts of federal, state and local agencies, nonprofit housing and service providers, and a team of dedicated professionals. These projects represent a new building type - “American Parthenons” – buildings that honor our veterans and make the mission of service permanent in each community.
Similar projects are under development in Westfield, Montclair, South Amboy and Gloucester City.
